Jamshedpur, July 26:  If weather department predictions are any indication most parts of Jharkhand would witness light to moderate rain today.

According to a weather bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre, many places would witness light to moderate rain ranging between 5 mm to 30 mm today.

However, the Met Centre issued a forecast of heavy rain especially in northeastern parts of Jharkhand on Wednesday.

Weathermen said the monsoon trough was today passing through Kutch, Jaiselmer, Kota, Ambikapur, Jamshedpur and Digha.

Met statistics revealed that rain during the past 24 hours brought down the deficit by one percent.

Against normal rainfall of 444.3 mm, Jharkhand has so far received 226.3 mm, a deficit of 49 per cent.

Weathermen ruled out the possibility of the rain deficit getting recovered by the end of this month until it rains heavily. The downpour also has to be widespread covering all 24 districts.
