Ranchi, FEb 8: As part of promoting cultural tourism in Jharkhand, the tourism department has drawn some plans which will be executed in a phase-wise manner.
The department has decided to rope-in Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Sangeet Natak Akademi and other such organizations to organize various cultural programmes of national and international standards in Jharkhand.
In a press release, the department said that it has decided to develop an integrated tribal enclosure for tourists and researchers to see the culture, history, and heritage of Jharkhand in one place.
The government believes that this flagship project will boost tourism in Jharkhand and it will prove as a milestone in showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Jharkhand. The tourism department has said that an integrated tribal enclosure will be developed as part of the project to boost cultural tourism. Local dance, song, music, and a rich tradition of handicrafts will also be showcased in this cocktail. The aim of this tour package is to attract tourists by giving them an experience of the cultural diversity and vibrancy of the state. The department feels that cultural tourism will generate self-employment.
As part of cultural tourism, the department is also planning to hold food festivals and handicraft exhibitions outside of Jharkhand to give a new dimension to tribal food and handicrafts.
A plan has been chalked out to display Jharkhand’s handicrafts at tourism information centres, hotels, airports, railway stations and other important public places. Efforts will be made to promote handicrafts and regional cuisine through various tourism exhibitions in and outside the state.
