RAJ KUMAR
Ranchi, Aug.11: As part of their countrywide campaign, workers associated with different trade unions today organized a protest in front of the Raj Bhawan to raise their voice against the ‘anti-labour’ policies of the Central Government.
Participants were workers from coal, steel and power besides HEC and other unorganized sectors. The workers unanimously said selling the country’s public property in private hands is not patriotism but betrayal of the country.
They vowed to assemble in New Delhi on August 24 to raise a stronger voice against the anti-national, anti-industry and anti-labour policies of the central government.
AITUC’s National President Ramendra Kumar inaugurated the programme. He said that the central government is adopting destructive and divisive policies in the country for political gains, which is fatal for the country. Now, the last way out is to bid farewell to the government which created trouble in the lives of the labourers.
INTUC state president Rakeshwar Pandey said that the basic mantra of dividing the laborers on the basis of caste and religion was learned from the British. He said factories and mines are temples and mosques for labourers and progress of the country is ensured only by worshipping the workplace.
AICCTU State General Secretary Shubhendu Sen said that HEC is the mirror of the progress of Modi ji’s country where workers have been yearning for salary for 18 months. The government counting the achievements of Chandrayaan will also have to worry about the payment of salaries to the HEC personnel who make their launching pads, he added.
