Ranchi: Agitated over the murder of advocate Manoj Jha, lawyers have announced a boycott of judicial work for a day. After this announcement, advocates across the state will stay away from judicial work in Jharkhand on Friday (July 30). Jharkhand State Bar Council has directed the advocates not to appear in any kind of judicial work on Friday. This decision has been taken in a casual meeting of the State Bar Council on Wednesday. Chairman Rajendra Krishna presided over the meeting, this information was given by Jharkhand High Court advocate and member of State Bar Council Hemant Kumar Sikarwar. According to Hemant Sikarwar, apart from staying away from judicial work, advocates will also meet the Chief Minister and demand concrete initiatives towards implementing the Advocate Protection Act.

The court had said that an advocate has been murdered in broad daylight and it is a serious matter. It should be investigated quickly. However, the court said that it is not registering the matter as a PIL. But it should be investigated expeditiously and the accused should be arrested soon.
