Dhanbad, Jan 6: Dr. Santvana Sharan of Koderma has been re-elected as the national secretary of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Mission Pink Health for the third consecutive term.
IMA national body President Dr JA Jayalal has issued a notification in this regard for appointment of Dr Sharan as the national secretary of the ambitious programme.
IMA runs MissionPink Health programme across the country for educating adolescent girls, women and school children over their health and hygienic awareness.
A senior doctor said that Dr Santvana Sharan has been re-elected for her outstanding performance as secretary in her second term especially when she carried out programmes during the Corona pandemic. Dr Sharan not only executed the programme in Ramgarh but also in other backward districts of Jharkhand through online and physical modes.
IMA Jharkhand chapter president Dr AK Singh thanked IMA national body for showing confidence and re-electing Dr Sharan for the third time. “Selection of Dr Sharan as national secretary shows recognition of Jharkhand’s doctors by the national headquarter of IMA. The national president believes Jharkhand’s doctors are committed to work and can do it with dedication,” said Dr AK Singh.
Last month, the IMA national body felicitated 21 senior and young doctors of Jharkhand for their outstanding achievement in the field of health services at Patna National Convention ( December 28-29, 2021). This was the first time when 21 doctors of any state in the country were presented with different awards.
Dr Sharan when contacted said that the third election as the national secretary Mission Pink Health has increased her responsibility manyfold.
“In the third term, my focus would be towards rural districts of the state where adolescent girls and school children are not much aware of their hygienic health. I would try to cover maximum girls to bail them out from the health crisis,” she said.
