Ranchi, Feb.15: Acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand Justice Aparesh Singh will administer oath to new Governor of Jharkhand C.P. Radhakrishnan on February 18 here at Birsa Mandap of the Raj Bhavan.
Prior to this, a farewell will be given to present Governor Ramesh Bias in the evening.
A Raj Bhawan source informed this saying ‘Bais is expected to leave Ranchi on February 17, a day before the acting chief justice administers oath to the new governor.’
Contacted Principal Secretary to Governor Nitin Madan Kulkarni for confirmation, he said the programme is tentative.
Name of Radhakrishnan as new governor of Jharkhand was notified by the President’s House on February 12.
Once Radhakrishnan assumed charge, Jharkhand will get its 10th governor. He was a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was elected to the Lok Sabha twice from Coimbatore.
He was also the former state president of the party for Tamil N?du. Till recently he was the National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and was appointed the Kerala BJP Prabhari (In-Charge by the party’s high command.
He was Chairman of the All-India Coir Board from 2016 to 2019, which comes under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
