Deoghar, June 30: A team of top officials arrived in Deoghar on Thursday in preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on July 12. PM Modi is visiting here to inaugurate the Deoghar airport.

The team included Jharkhand Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, President Airport Authority Sanjeev Kumar, DGP Neeraj Sinha, and Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal. Following their inspection of the airport, the officials met with the airport and AIIMS representatives.

According to sources, the meeting was discussing the Prime Minister’s upcoming arrival and schedule. The Chief Secretary discussed numerous security-related matters with the airport authority.

The official program of the Prime Minister will be held at the airport. A meeting will be organized on behalf of the party in Deoghar College.

Notably, the Deoghar Airport has been constructed at a cost of Rs.401.34 crore. This airport has been built on about 653.75 acres. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for it online on May 25, 2018.

The length of the runway at Deoghar airport is 2500 meters (two and a half kilometres long). This airport has been made keeping in mind the tribal folk art of Jharkhand. At present, Airbus 320-321 flights can land here. For this, SpiceJet and Indigo airlines have approached the Airport Authority of India and the Ministry of Civil Aviation to start the airline. They have also got the green signal from the ministry to start the airline.

Apart from this, DGP Neeraj Sinha said he is there to take account of Shrawani Mela preparations by the local administration. He said that as the Mela is being organized after a gap of two years, so more than expected pilgrims will come for Jalparan.

He said that he will also review the prisoner’s murder case in the civil court premises that occurred on June 18.

On being questioned about the prevailing law and order condition in the state, he candidly replied that the Bokaro police recently recovered a heavy amount looted from a Bank and even the Deoghar police have got major success in the prisoner’s murder case that will be put before the media soon.
