Jammu, Jan 3: One Pakistani intruder was shot dead on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday near the international border in the Arnia sector of Jammu, informed the Border Security Forces (BSF).
The invader was allegedly attempting to infiltrate Indian territory from Pakistan when he was discovered by BSF personnel. The intruder refused to stop despite several challenges from BSF troops, prompting the troops to shoot fire.
“Alert troops of BSF Jammu fires upon suspicious movement of Pak intruder in Arnia sector of Jammu area opposite Border Pillar No 978,” said the BSF.
Another intruder has been shot and killed by BSF personnel near Bullechak. This is the second time in the first three days of 2022 that an infiltration attempt has been made.
Earlier in December, BSF personnel killed a Pakistani lady invader along the international border fence in the RS Pura area. She was allegedly attempting to enter Indian territory from Pakistan when she was shot down. A Pakistani invader was apprehended near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch area in July. Previously, in June also, the BSF shot down a Pakistani invader in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. Forces recovered about 27 kilos of narcotics worth Rs 135 crores from the border area during that period. According to reports, the invader who was shot by the police was involved in cocaine trafficking to India. The action was confirmed by the BSF.
