J&K: Five die, 12 injured in bus accident in Rajouri

Srinagar, Sept 15: In the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir, five people were killed and 12 others were injured when the bus they were riding in fell into a deep gorge.

According to them, the bus, which was travelling from Surankote Poonch to Jammu, veered off the road and fell into the Deri Ralyot valley in the Manjakote area.

Security forces and local residents have launched a rescue operation.

“Anguished by the loss of lives due to a tragic accident in Rajouri. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest. The district administration is providing all possible assistance,” reads a statement from the Office of LG J&K.

The incident occurs a day after another accident in the Poonch area of Jammu & Kashmir claimed the lives of 11 people and injured 28 more.
