Kulgam, Jan 13: In an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Pariwan village of Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Wednesday, one Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist was slain and one Jammu and Kashmir Police (SOG) employee was martyred.
Rohit Kumar has been identified as the killed JKP officer. The shooting also injured three army soldiers and two civilians.
“The JeM terrorist killed in the Kulgam encounter has been identified as Babar, a Pakistani national active in Shopian and Kulgam since 2018. One AK rifle, one pistol, and two grenades have been recovered,”said Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar.
Search operation is underway.
