As a front organisation for Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, which was designated as a “unlawful association” under the UA(P)A in 2019, the Al Huda Educational Trust’s funding patterns and activities were the subject of a suo-motu investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to sources, these raids were conducted out by several NIA teams based on particular inputs. The Central Reserve Police Force and the Jammu and Kashmir Police coordinated the operations (CRPF).
