New Delhi, Oct 11: The Election Commission of India (ECI) received three proposals for the new party’s symbol from the Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde faction on Tuesday. The three choices are a pipal tree, a sun, a sword and shield.
Notably, the election authority gave the Uddhav Thackeray side the torch mashaal symbol the day before, putting an end to the conflict between Thackeray and Shinde over control of the Sena. Eknath Shinde received the name “Balasahebchi Shiv Sena,” whilst Uddhav Thackeray would go by “Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray.”

Both the Trishul and the rising sun were claimed as electoral symbols by the opposing Shiv Sena groups.
The Shinde faction has now presented ideas for the party symbol twice. The Shinde camp suggested a trumpet, a blunt mace, and a sword for the party on Monday. As a potential symbol, the Uddhav group had considered the trishul, rising sun, and mashaal.
