Shopian, March 13: A terrorist who killed an off-duty CRPF jawan in South Kashmir on Saturday has been apprehended. The pistol used in the crime was retrieved from the suspect, and a complaint was filed, according to Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir. An overground worker who accompanied the terrorist during the crime was also apprehended, according to IGP Kashmir. According to the authorities, the terror attack was carried out on the orders of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh.

Mukhtar Ahmad Dohi, a 34-year-old CRPF jawan who was off duty, was shot and killed by terrorists outside his home in Shopian’s Chotipora neighbourhood. Dohi died as a result of his injuries while being transported to the hospital, according to police.
“A very worrying spurt in (attacks) the last 7-10 days with off-duty security personnel, mainstream political workers & civilians targeted. My heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased CRPF Jawan Mukhtar Ahmed,” Condemning Dohi’s killing, former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted.
