Amritsar, March 13: The Aam Aadmi Party, which swept the state elections, gaining 92 of the 117 assembly seats earlier this week, will hold a major roadshow in Punjab’s Amritsar on Sunday.
In a show of strength, Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, who is due to take oath as chief minister on March 16, will lead the victory roadshow alongside the AAP’s victorious candidates.
“Arvind Kejriwal will come to Amritsar today. We have to thank the punjabis who gave us so much love and such a huge responsibility,” said Mann.
Navjot Singh Sidhu of the Congress, Parkash Singh Badal, the state’s five-time chief minister, and Bikram Singh Majithia of the Akali Dal have all been beaten by AAP candidates. After Delhi, this is the party’s first state election victory. The AAP has been attempting to broaden its national reach. It also ran in the Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Goa legislative elections.
