Srinagar, July 3: In the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, two heavily armed Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists were apprehended by locals and turned over to the police, according to the J&K Police.

After being overpowered by the people in Tuksan, security forces were able to capture Lashkar commander Talib Hussain, who is believed to be the brains behind the recent IED explosions in the Reasi district. The LeT commander was the target of a bounty placed by the J&K Police. Faizal Ahmed Dar, another terrorist, was also detained in the village

“Two terrorists of LeT were apprehended by villagers of Tuksan, Reasi district, with weapons. Two AK-47 rifles, seven grenades and a pistol were recovered. DGP announces a reward of Rs2 lakhs for villagers,” additional director general of police (ADGP), Jammu said.

This occurs only days after Srinagar police detained two Lashkar-e-Toiba hybrid terrorists, according to PTI. Security forces have a phrase for people who carry out duties given to them by their handlers before returning to normal life: hybrid terrorists. The two terrorists were identified as Naveed Shafi Wani and Faizan Rashid Teli, both of Pampore’s Shar Shali Khrew and Kadlabal, respectively.

They were found to be in possession of LeT-related evidence as well as weapons and ammunition, including four Chinese pistols, six pistol magazines, 11 pistol rounds, a grenade, 16 gelatin super power sticks, and six metres of cortical wire, and eight detonators.
