Ranchi, Feb.28: JMM legislator Lobin Hembrom appeared offensive against his own party’s government on the second day of the budget session of the Jharkhand Assembly.

Hembrom was noticed by walking with a ‘Bhangi’ on his shoulder on the assembly premises. He was heard saying that he had come in this way as Hemant Soren does not listen to him.

“This government is misleading the public. The government which came into power on the issue of water, forest and land is doing nothing to save it. Local and recruitment policy has not been formulated so far. The youth are being kept in a trap. The PESA Act is being violated. In the name of the local’s policy based on 1932, the Hemant government is misleading the youth. No work is being done anywhere,” the JMM legislator said. On being asked that he was only in the JMM to feel like this, he said he has always taken the initiative alone and people join him later.

Meanwhile, the BJP MLAs also attacked the Hemant Soren government for its failure in the formulation of a recruitment policy. They were of the opinion that the government has played a cruel joke on the youth in the name of recruitment policy. According to them, the state government has ruined the future of youth by delaying the formulation of recruitment policy.

As the session started, BJP MLA Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta raised the issue of the communal incident in Panki. He demanded the government investigate the matter. He wanted to know from the government about the way stones and petrol bombs reached the mosque. As Congress MLA Irfan Ansari attempted to interrupt him, he expressed his objection and a heated argument between Mehta and Ansari started in the house. The Speaker asked the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs to respond to the matter. The minister said that the government has taken cognizance of this.

JMM MLA JP Patel attempted to corner the government on the issue of amending Jharkhand State Financial Institution (Grant) Rules, 2015 through a short notice question and education minister Jagarnath Mahto had to come to the rescue of the government.

MLA Patel had questioned that on June 26, 2022, the education department had given instructions to amend the Jharkhand State Financial Institutions (Grant) Rules, 2015 in view of inflation, but no action has been taken to date. The situation is that the working employees are facing a severe financial crisis.

In response to the question, education Minister Jagarnath Mahto said that the previous government had stopped giving funds to the aided college but the Hemant government has increased it. He said that the government has also formed a committee. Further action will be taken on receipt of the report.
