Ranchi, July 20: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha today demanded dismissal of Biren Singh government in Manipur and registration of a murder and rape case against Singh for his failure in protecting the life of 170 people and saving the dignity of women in the state.

Party’s senior leader Supriyo Bhattacharya raised the demand by organizing a press conference at the party’s Harmu office saying the incident of striping and parading a tribal woman has ashamed 140 crore population of the country and the BJP’s double engine government is responsible for the same.

He said that it was a matter of concern that Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke his silence over Manipur violence only after caste struggles continued for 77 days claiming several lives and dignity of women and the Supreme Court had to intervene into the matter.

The JMM leader took strong exception to Modi’s attitude of politicizing the issue of crime against women and not mentioning UP, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh while giving a call to the chief ministers of different states to deal with cases of crime against women seriously.

The JMM leader said the BJP is insensitive towards the respect of women and this is the reason parliamentarian Brij Bhusan could not be arrested despite molestation charges by women wrestlers of high repute and a BJP leader terming women as “Khali Plot”.

Asked for his reaction on crime against women in Jharkhand, the JMM leader said that there is a difference between crime against women in Jharkhand and Manipur. “In Manipur atrocities against women are the result of caste struggle unlike Jharkhand,” he said.

The JMM leader said people will give a befitting reply to such incidents adding “Choubis Uttar Dega (twenty four will reply to it).”
