Ranchi, Feb 3: The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) on Thursday said that it will appoint 552 assistant professors under the unreserved category by the end of April. At present, 499 appointments have been made out of 566 Assistant Professor in the reserved category against backlog vacancies. Of these, the appointment of Assistant Professors of Economics and Commerce will be done by the last week of February.
At present, out of 566 reserved posts, appointments in 8 for Anthropology, 20 for Bengali, 32 for Botany, 33 for Chemistry, 71 for English, 14 for Geography, 8 for Geology, 27 for Hindi, 27 for History, 6 for Home Science, 3 for Kurmani, 2 for Labour and Social Welfare, 2 for Maithili, 41 for Maths, 7 for Nagpuri, 3 for Odia, 24 for Philosophy, 26 for Physics, 47 for Political Science, 25 for Psychology, 18 for Sanskrit, 7 for Sociology, 2 for Statistics, 22 for Urdu and 34 for Zoology have been made. There may be appointments for 33 posts of Commerce and 24 posts of Economics by the last week of February.
Of these, 148 professors will serve in Ranchi University, 146 in Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribagh, 116 in Sidhu Kanhu Murmu University Dumka, 50 in Nilamber-Pitamber University Palamu and 107 in Kolhan University Chaibasa. It is noteworthy, that out of these posts just 1 post has been reserved for women that is for the Vinoba Bhave University.
