Ranchi, Aug 2: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Committee (JSSC) is set to invite applications for the appointment of 3,110 post graduate trained teachers in Plus Two schools.

After receiving the recommendation of the Department of School Education and Literacy, the JSSC is preparing an advertisement in this regard for the appointment of postgraduate trained teachers for a total of 3,110 posts. Of these 2,855 posts are regular vacancies, while 255 posts are backlog vacancies.

Notably, the appointment of teachers in the Plus Two schools of the state was done last in the year 2012.

Meanwhile, the state government has also recently amended the Appointment and Service Conditions Rules for the appointment of teachers in Plus Two schools. Under this, in addition to the mandatory educational qualification for appointment, it will be important for the candidates to have passed Matriculation and Intermediate from educational institutions of Jharkhand.

However, reserved category candidates are exempted from this. It will also be mandatory for the candidates to have knowledge of local customs, language and environment.

On the other hand, sources have claimed that around 75 percent appointments for the posts of postgraduate trained teachers will be direct. At the same time, 25 percent of the positions will be filled by teachers who have served a minimum of three years in secondary schools. However, all teachers will have to appear in the same competitive examination which will be conducted for direct appointment.
