Ranchi, Jan 4: Special CBI Judge SK Shashi, who is hearing the Doranda Treasury fodder scam case (RC 47A/96) involving Lalu Prasad, has been found Covid positive. Due to this, the hearing of the case has been adjourned for three days from Monday. The court has fixed January 6 as the next date.

The court had opened on January 3 after a holiday of 10 days. The hearing of the fodder scam case was also fixed for January 3. The accused, who are facing trial, were to make their presence known in the court through their advocates, but the hearing had to be postponed.

If the judge is fully recovered by the stipulated date, further hearing in the case will continue. The debate in the matter is in the final stage. Arguments are to be made on behalf of only three accused. The arguments on behalf of 99 accused including Lalu have been completed. The date of the verdict will be fixed once the arguments in the matter are over.

102 accused, including Lalu Prasad, are facing trial in the 25-year-old illegal withdrawal of Rs 139.35 crore from the Doranda treasury.
