New Delhi: BJP Member of Parliament and actress Kangana Ranaut has applauded West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her supportive stance towards the Modi-led Union government amid the ongoing Bangladesh crisis. Ranaut remarked that Banerjee, for the first time, acknowledged Bengal as an integral part of India.
In a statement shared on X, Ranaut wrote, “For the first time, Mamata didi accepted that Bengal is a part of India and supported the Centre, remembering the Prime Minister. What a scene! She knows she will be the first to face Bangladeshi refugees whom she has given shelter when they come with daggers. But Mamata didi can be rest assured. She will be protected in Ram Rajya. Nothing to worry about as the country is in safe hands.”
Banerjee had earlier appealed to the people of West Bengal to maintain peace and disregard any rumors, assuring that she would support the Union government’s decisions regarding the Bangladesh situation.
The crisis in Bangladesh erupted when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country on August 5 after weeks of protests against her administration. Her departure, ending a 15-year rule, was followed by widespread arson and vandalism targeting properties associated with the Awami League and Hasina’s family.
Ranaut’s comments also touched upon her previous remarks about the instability in Islamic republics, stating that such situations are common where efforts to “annihilate” other religions are frequent. She indirectly referred to anti-immigrant protests in Britain, claiming that Christians were being attacked on the streets.
Highlighting reports of mob attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh, Ranaut called for vigilance against those misguiding the nation and selling it to international forces. She emphasized the need to be wary of individuals who align with such disruptive elements.
Ranaut’s praise for Banerjee marks a significant moment of political alignment, showcasing unity in the face of regional crises. The collaboration between state and central leadership aims to ensure stability and security for all citizens during these turbulent times.
