Lucknow, July 28: The UP police have imposed NSA against the primary defendant, Jafar Hayat, for supporting and upsetting the peace during the incident on June 3 in Kanpur.
Last month, violent battles and stone-throwing broke out in Kanpur after a local group demanded that businesses be shut down at the Parade Market, one of the largest wholesale markets in the city, due to remarks made by suspended BJP politician Nupur Sharma regarding the Prophet Muhammad.
