Chitradurga, Sep 4: Police reported on Monday that a car struck a lorry in the Chitradurga district, resulting in four fatalities and three injuries.
Samsuddin (40), Mallika (37), Khalil (42) and Tabrej (13), according to the police, were the deceased.
“The incident took place near Mallapura in Chitradurga. A car with 7 passengers rammed into a parked lorry on National Highway-48,” said police.
The police added, “Four persons were killed on the spot while three others identified as Nargish, Rehan and Rahman were seriously injured.”
Preliminary evidence indicates that the car was travelling from Hospet to Tumkur.
The injured have been sent to Chitradurga District Hospital and the truck driver has been taken into custody, according to authorities.
