Bengaluru, Dec 23: Karnataka reported 12 new cases of Omicron on Thursday, taking the total tally of the state to 31, informed State Health Minister Dr K. Sudhakar.
Of these 12 news cases, as many as 10 cases have been reported in Bengaluru, out of which five have returned from the UK, one from Denmark and one from Nigeria, informed the ministry.
“A total of 12 new cases of Omicron have been confirmed in Karnataka today taking the tally to 31,” said Dr Sudhakar.
With the new cases reported in Tamil Nadu, the total number of Omicron cases in India has now mounted to 283.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu reported 33 cases of the Omicron variant on Thursday following genomic sequencing of samples collected from those who tested positive for COVID-19.
