Islamabad: Amid growing speculation over former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health and safety, his son Kasim Khan has expressed deep concern, alleging that the family has not received any proof of life from the jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader for weeks. Imran Khan has completed 845 days in prison and has reportedly been kept in solitary confinement for the past six weeks.
Kasim Claims Imran Is Held in Solitary Cell With Zero Transparency
In a post shared on X, Kasim Khan criticised the Pakistani authorities, stating that Imran is being held in a “death cell with zero transparency.” He added that despite clear court orders, the former PM’s sisters have been repeatedly denied permission to meet him and the family has not received a single phone call or message. Kasim insisted that the blackout around his father’s condition is intentional, not a security protocol, and suggested that the authorities are trying to hide his current situation.
Call for Global Intervention and Human Rights Action
The 26-year-old urged international human rights organisations and democratic nations to demand accountability from the Pakistani government and ensure the safety and release of his father, whom he described as the nation’s most popular leader. Kasim also warned that Pakistan’s rulers will be held “legally, morally and internationally” responsible for Imran Khan’s condition and the consequences of his continued isolation.
Imran’s Sister Says Government Trying to Break Him Under Pressure
Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi also spoke publicly, accusing the Shehbaz Sharif-led government of operating like “Nazi Germany” due to extreme media censorship and crackdown on dissent. She alleged that global powers like the US and UK are backing the current Pakistani administration and that Imran is being tortured to force him to quit politics. She suggested that only the people of Pakistan—not the international community—can ensure justice.
Government Rejects Rumours, Says Imran Is Healthy in Adiala Jail
Amid rumours about Imran’s death, senior PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah told ARY News that the former PM remained in Adiala jail and was “well under medical supervision.” He stated that a medical team continuously oversees his medicines, diet, facilities and exercise routine.
