Ranchi, May 4:  Students and teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Doranda today participated in a mock exercise conducted by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to have an idea to work in odd situations.

Team commander Rahul Kumar Singh with his nine-member team was present there to give them a firsthand experience in three and a half hours starting from 7.30 am.

They were made aware of the ways to do rescue work at the time of the earthquake and after that. They were informed about first aid techniques including ways to control bleeding, moving an injured person from one place to another, methods of healing injuries and steps required to be taken in the case of a heart attack.  They were also made aware of methods of escape and rescue.

It was a nice experience for the teachers to participate in the demonstration and do practical work in the presence of NDRF personnel known for carrying out several successful operations during floods, earthquakes and other calamities.
