Alappuzha, Dec 20: Two RSS activists have been arrested by the police on Monday in connection with the murder of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) state secretary KS Shan. The suspects, Prasad and Kuttan were allegedly involved in the planning and conspiracy of Shaan’s murder, informed SP G Jayadev.
“Both are involved in the conspiracy behind the murder of the SDPI leader. They are active RSS members. More accused will be arrested in the case. The motive behind the murder will be confirmed only after arresting the other accused. More people will be arrested in Renjith murder case too,” said the SP.
Notably, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) state secretary K S Shan (38) was allegedly attacked and murdered on Saturday night. This was followed by a separate incident in which BJP’s OBC Morcha state secretary Renjith Sreenivasan (40) was murdered by a group of people in his own house early on Sunday morning in Alappuzha.
With the situation remaining volatile, prohibitory orders under CrPC section 144 was imposed in the entire Alappuzha district for two days — Sunday and Monday.
Earlier on November 15, an RSS worker S Sanjith was hacked to death allegedly by the workers of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
