Mumbai, April 19: KGF: Chapter 2 refuses to slow down. After a good extended weekend, the Kannada film passed the first Monday test as well, earning 73 crore on the day with a mild 45 percent decline. The Yash-starrer has done well both domestically and internationally, grossing a whooping 625 crore worldwide.
This indicates that the film has already surpassed the top ten highest-grossing Indian films. It is the second film this year to break the list, following SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
On Tuesday afternoon, film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan tweeted the earnings breakdown for KGF 2. KGF 2 has outperformed films like Padmaavat, Sanju, and Sultan, earning a total of 625 crores. According to current trends, the picture will climb a few more spots by the end of the week, putting it within striking distance of Baahubali: The Beginning (650 crore) and 2.0 (656 crore).
The hindi version is also creating records. Within five days of release, the Hindi version of KGF 2 has crossed Rs 200 crore in earnings. According to the trade analyst Taran Adarsh, it earned Rs25 crore on Monday, taking its total five-day gross to Rs 219 crore.
