Ranchi, Sept.6: Police in Khunti arrested a boy for impregnating a juvenile girl. The boy has been sent to an observation home in Ranchi.
The superintendent of police Khunti Aman Kumar confirmed the incident saying the age of the boy is 17 while the age of the girl is 16. He said that the action was taken after an FIR was registered in this connection.
The incident has come to fore at the time when reports of attack on girls are coming from different parts of the state and police are already in action to ensure conviction of the persons responsible for the same.
As the boy is a Mohammedan by faith and girl belongs to the non-Muslim community, the BJP termed the incident a case of ‘love Jihad’ and attacked Hemant Soren government for promoting Jihadis in Jharkhand.
“The mind is disturbed by the incident of another 15-yr old minor tribal girl being a victim of love jihad in Karra block in Khunti district. The police have also sent the accused to the correctional home of Ranchi after arresting him……….. If the Jidhadi will flood in Jharkhand this way then the existence of the tribal will come to an end….. But our chief minister Hemant Soren ji, buried under the feet of appeasement, sees such a ludicrous incident as normal,” tweeted BJP legislator party chief Babulal Marandi.

Party spokesperson Pratul Nath Shadeo supported Marandi by re-tweeting the latter’s tweet.
SP Kumar confirming the incident however said that girl is not tribal as mentioned in the tweet of BJP legislator party chief Babulal Marandi. He did not disclose the identity of the girl.
A local resident said the pregnancy was exposed after the aunt of the girl noticed the belly of the girl when the girl was taking a bath. “After aunt probed properly the fact regarding the physical relationship of the girl with the boy got exposed and the matter was reported to police. Police sent the girl for medical examination to ascertain the age of fetus,” the resident said.
Though the ruling party legislators take strong exception to BJP’s attempt of associating crime with religion, BJP legislator party chief Marandi through his tweet has asked the God to give Soren some wisdom.
