Hazaribag, Feb 11: The body of a retired 69-year-old man was recovered from a forest in Koderma. The deceased has been identified as Girija Nandan Prasad.
Notably, Prasad went missing on January 31 making this the most highlighted case as local MLA Neeraj Yadav also mounted pressure on the police for his safe recovery.
Prasad’s dead body was found on a rock near a stream close to Dangra Pahad under the Koderma police station. His relatives said Prasad was murdered and police should solve this case as the earliest.
Sources said Prasad went to the market but didn’t return back. His son Anand Kishore lodged an FIR in the Koderma police station suspecting the abduction of his father.
Police have lodged an FIR-20/23 under section 363 of the IPC. They have started their investigation and found the last location of Prasad near Dangra Pahad only.
Today, a stink made villagers reach the spot where they saw a dead body. Police were informed and soon Prasad’s son came there and identified the body of his father.
Police officials said they have sent the dead body for postmortem and are waiting for the report.
“Only a report will confirm the actual reason for his death, they added. We will solve this case soon,” officials added.
