New Delhi, Aug 29: The Shahi Idgah mosque survey petition was filed on Monday, and the Allahabad High Court on Monday ordered the Mathura district court to rule on it within four months.
Manish Yadav, the petitioner, moved the Allahabad High Court since the Mathura district court hearing was being continually postponed and delayed.
A number of lawsuits seeking to have Shahi Idgah Masjid removed from the Katra Keshav Dev Temple complex near the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple as well as following interim requests to appoint a court commissioner to examine the mosque are now being heard by the lower court.
In addition to its purported “Hindu architecture,” the petitioners say that the mosque contains various indicators of temples, including those of “om, swastika, and lotus.”
