New Delhi: As news of Manish Sisodia’s defeat in Jangpura flashed on television screens, former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas revealed that his wife broke into tears. However, he clarified that it was not out of sympathy for Arvind Kejriwal’s trusted aide, but due to a personal memory of his arrogance when he was in power.
“Abhi Toh Hai” – Kumar Vishwas Recalls Sisodia’s Words
Speaking to the media, poet and AAP co-founder Kumar Vishwas shared an old conversation between his wife and Manish Sisodia.
“When my wife once told Manish, ‘Bhaiya, you won’t always be in power,’ he arrogantly replied, ‘Abhi toh hai’ (I am in power today),” Vishwas recalled.
He criticized Sisodia’s arrogance and stated that his downfall serves as a lesson for other political leaders.
“I hope others learn from this and do not display such arrogance. This is a victory for the citizens of Delhi,” he added.
Kumar Vishwas’ Message to AAP Workers
Taking a direct dig at Arvind Kejriwal, who also suffered a humiliating defeat against BJP’s Parvesh Verma, Vishwas congratulated BJP and expressed no sympathy for his former colleague.
“I have no sympathy for a man (Kejriwal) who crushed the dreams of AAP workers. God has punished him, and today, justice has been delivered,” Vishwas said.
He also criticized AAP workers for blindly following Kejriwal’s personal ambitions and urged them to rethink their loyalty.
“You all have worked for someone who stabbed his friends in the back, cheated his guru for personal gains. It’s time to look out for yourself,” he told AAP workers.
Sheesh Mahal Controversy & Kejriwal’s Downfall
Arvind Kejriwal, once hailed as a symbol of honesty, was rejected by the people of Delhi. His opponents centered their campaign around his ‘Sheesh Mahal’, the lavish residence he built as Delhi CM.
• Kejriwal was arrested in the Delhi liquor policy scam just before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and spent five months in jail.
• After securing bail, he resigned as Chief Minister in September 2024, saying he would only return if Delhi voters cleared his name.
• His defeat in New Delhi has now ended his political dominance.
BJP Secures Majority, AAP Reduced To 22 Seats
As results poured in, BJP secured a comfortable majority, leading on 48 seats, while AAP was reduced to 22.
• BJP’s victory has ended AAP’s decade-long rule in Delhi.
• Congress failed to win a single seat for the third consecutive election.
