Lucknow, Oct 8: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni said that Ajay Mishra, who was summoned by police in connection to the Lakhimpur Kheri violence could not report on Friday due to some health reasons. Now, he will appear before the police on Saturday.
“My son was summoned yesterday, but due to health reasons, he could not report to the police. He will report tomorrow,” Teni informed reporters outside Lucknow Airport.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh police arrested Luvkush and Ashish Pandey and asked Ashish Mishra to appear before the UP police on Friday. Notably, UP police on Monday filed an FIR for murder against Ashish Mishra. The Crime Branch team of Lakhimpur Kheri Police has directed Ashish Mishra to appear before 11:00 PM on Saturday. Another notice has been pasted at the house of Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni. In the second notice, his son Ashish was given an extension of 24 hours. The police kept waiting for him to appear today at 10 am.
Meanwhile, the police have clearly said that if Ashish Mishra could not appear on Saturday for any reason, then the law would take its own course. In this matter, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni says that the son has not been hidden anywhere. He is mature and makes his own decisions.
