Ranchi, Sept.13: RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has sought permission from the CBI court to release his passport.

He has filed a petition through his advocate Anant Kumar Vij for release of passport.

Entertaining the petition, the court has asked the CBI to file an affidavit in the matter.

The court has fixed September 16 for the next hearing.

According to sources, the RJD chief requires a passport to go to Singapore for his treatment and his appointment is fixed in a Singapore-based hospital on September 24.

It was the second time the RJD chief has requested to release his passport, which is in the possession of the court after his conviction in multiple cases of fodder scam.

Earlier on June 14, the special court of Ranchi CBI ordered the release of Yadav’s passport for its renewal.
