Ranchi, Feb 16: After the conviction of Lalu Prasad by the CBI court in the fifth fodder scam case, room A11 of the paying ward of RIMS has become his abode once again.
The paying ward was converted into a cantonment zone as soon as he was admitted to RIMS. A strict vigil is being kept on every visitor. A metal detector has been installed at the main entrance. 36 soldiers have been deployed in three shifts for Lalu’s security.
Sadar DSP Prabhat Ranjan also reached out to take stock of the security arrangements of the paying ward.
The DSP said that Lalu Prasad, a high-trial prisoner, has been kept in the paying ward for treatment. An adequate number of forces have been deployed for his security and strict adherence to the jail manual. A briefing has been done to the deployed personnel to ensure that the manual is not violated.
He further said that senior officers of the administration can also reach here for a surprise inspection.
The officials of the Bariatu police station interrogated the people standing outside the RIMS paying ward. The vehicles parked on the premises were also checked. The police of Bariatu police station had reached the spot under the leadership of the station in-charge Gyanranjan.
