Based on the CBI FIR, the ED opened a second probe under the penal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). According to the sources, Tejashwi Yadav, the son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad, is scheduled to give a statement on Tuesday.

On March 25, the day after he gave a deposition to the CBI, Tejashwi Yadav’s MP sister Misa Bharti was also questioned by the ED in this matter.

Both the central agencies have lately taken action in the issue, with the ED conducting searches against the RJD leader’s family and the CBI interviewing Lalu Prasad and his wife, former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi.

After the searches, the ED said it had found “unaccounted cash” worth Rs. 1 crore and detected proceeds of crime worth Rs 600 crore.
