Dhanbad, Feb 5: Dhanbad Sadar MLA Raj  Sinha while taking a dig at protesters against the regional language status to Bhojpuri and Magahi in Dhanbad and Bokaro, said that instead of burning his effigy, burn him alive if it gives a job to five lakhs youths.

The BJP MLA said that he is ready to sacrifice himself if it gives a job.  He said if the burning of his effigy ensures 5 lakhs jobs he is ready to burn himself alive.

Raj Sinha was reacting to the burning of his effigy by the Jharkhand Bhasha Sangharsh Samiti in protest against the inclusion of Bhojpuri, Magahi, and Angika languages as a regional language in Dhanbad and Bokaro.  The agitators had on Friday taken out the body procession of Raj Sinha and other leaders.  Agitators burnt the effigy and tonsured their heads at Randhir Verma Chowk.

“ In fact, the state government has failed on all fronts. It neither gave jobs to youth as it had promised nor undertook any development works. So to divert the youth from the real issue, a new language dispute is being created for divide and rule,” said the MLA.

Raj Sinha said that it is surprising that Urdu has been made a regional language in all 24 districts but no one is protesting against it.   Though the Hemant Soren government has included Bhojpuri and Magahi as regional languages in Dhanbad and Bokaro notwithstanding, students would write in Hindi in the examination. So there is no dispute on Bhojpuri and Magahi.

The MLA  criticised JMM MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto for holding the BJP responsible for agitation against languages. “  It is the JMM led state government had included  Bhojpuri, Magahi languages as regional languages, not the BJP. So It is wrong to say it a  BJP sponsored agitation,” he said.

Tundi MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto had on the occasion of JMM foundation day function accused the BJP of igniting the agitation in Dhanbad,  Bokaro over languages.
