Daltonganj, Nov.23: A man received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine in a harvested field in the village Paira under the Murup panchayat of Barwadeeh block in Latehar district.

ANM Damyanti Nagesia while talking to lagatar24.com today shared an interesting tale. She said that on Monday she and her co-vaccinator were out for the vaccination drive at the village Paira.

There was a report of men and women busy harvesting their paddy crop. Damyanti was pacing fast along the crop fields when a man named Mahender Ram called her and asked for his second dose of the vaccine. On checking his first dose’s date, ANM Damyanti found that his request was genuine.

Mahender Ram then sat on his knees in the harvested field and received the vaccine.

The medical officer in-charge of community health centre (CHC) Barwadeeh, Ashish Ranjan said, “Our teams are up to any territory for the vaccination. It is a mission and ANMs in Latehar are going for it in all sincerity and seriousness.”

Ved Prakash, a health official in Latehar district said that vaccination teams are making every attempt to reach the left out eligibles for the jab.

Sources said that DC Latehar, Abu Imran, is keeping a close tab on the vaccination drive, directing civil surgeon Dr Haren Chandra Mahto and his teams to fan out and catch the left out eligibles and administer the vaccine.
