Daltonganj, May 21: Latehar district has recorded four positive Covid cases. This has been confirmed by Latehar Civil Surgeon Latehar Dr Haren Chandra Mahto.
These four cases have come after two months of zero active Covid cases. The four persons tested Covid positive in the RT-PCR test, according to the CS.
However, three out of the four cases have ‘very low’ infection while one has ‘low’ infection which is a matter of relief. “We hope all the four will recover very soon,” said CS Mahto
For the RT PCR test nasal and throat swabs are given. Here in the case of 4 active Covid cases swab samples were sent to the RIMS Ranchi from Latehar said Dr Mahto.
Notably, the swab samples were sent to RIMS Ranchi on May 17. Dr Mahto said they will send the swab samples to RIMS again in another few days’ time.
All the four active Covid positive cases are of Garu block but belong to 4 different villages namely Saryu, Armu, Ganeshpur and Dhangartola. Two out of them are women and all four have taken their two Covid vaccine doses, said the medical officer in charge of the government Garu referral hospital Dr Arvind Kumar.
“The four had come to the OPD where we collected their nasal and throat swab for the RT PCR test which was first sent to the Latehar Sadar hospital. From there, the swab samples were forwarded to the RIMS Ranchi which declared the four as active Covid positive cases,” said Dr Arvind.
He further said the four are doing fine in their respective home isolation and Sahiyas are in constant touch with their families regarding their health. “Our health team is working on the ‘Contact Tracing’. There is no concrete evidence of these 4 active Covid positive cases having any travel history,” he said.
“We are trying to know if the four or any of them have any travel history and then we will go on locating more such people coming to Garu block from outside,” Dr Arvind added.
