Jamshedpur, Sept 9: Few places across Jharkhand are expected to witness light rain today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
The Met Centre issued no alerts of either heavy rain or thunder and lightning for the next two to three days.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Kota, Raisen, Pendra Road, Jamshedpur, Digha and thence east-southeastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal and extending up to 2.1 km above mean sea level.
The cyclonic circulation over central parts of interior Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh was lying over southeast Madhya Pradesh extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was experienced in most places during the past 24 hours.
Monsoon was active over the state during the past 24 hours. The rain deficit of Jharkhand as of today stood at 34 per cent.
