Jamshedpur, Sept 26: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light rain in a few places over Jharkhand today.
Thundershowers and lightning are also expected at a few places today.
Weathermen today declared that the southwest monsoon has started withdrawing from parts of southwest Rajasthan.
Under normal circumstances, monsoon’s departure from Jharkhand is expected in the first week of October.
The east-west trough was running from cyclonic circulation over southeast Uttar Pradesh to West Assam across Bihar and West Bengal at 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Another trough runs from southeast Uttar Pradesh to Telangana across Chhattisgarh extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was observed at a few places over the state.
Monsoon activity was normal over the state during the past 24 hours.
The state’s rain deficit as of today stood at 28 per cent. Against a normal of 992 mm the state has so far received rainfall of 719 mm.
