Jamshedpur, July 28: Light to moderate rain is expected at many places over Jharkhand today.
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued an alert for thunderstorms and lightning in isolated areas today.
The well-marked low-pressure area over south Odisha adjoining north Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood has weakened into a low-pressure area over south Odisha and north coastal Andhra Pradesh and the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Bikaner, Kota, Raisen, Durg, centre of Low-Pressure Area over south Odisha and adjoining north coastal Andhra Pradesh and thence east-southeastwards to east-central Bay of Bengal extending upto 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
Meanwhile, the state’s rain deficit as of today stood at 48 per cent. Against a normal of 467 mm, the state has so far received 242 mm of rain, resulting in a 48 per cent rain deficit.
