Jamshedpur, June 29: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light to moderate rain over Jharkhand today.

Weathermen said cloud cover was witnessed in most districts.

As of today ever since the onset of monsoon, Jharkhand faced a rain deficit of 51 per cent.

Against a normal of 170.3 mm, Jharkhand has so far received 84.3 mm of rain, a deficit of 51 per cent.

According to statistics,  except for Simdega, all the other 23 districts were facing a huge rain deficit which is difficult to get compensated with one day left to end June, the first Monsoon month.

The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) was today passing through Jodhpur, Sikar, Narnaul and Firozpur.

The low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and the neighbourhood with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level persists.

It is very likely to move towards north Madhya Pradesh during the next two days.

The east-west trough was today running from northwest Rajasthan to northeast Bay of Bengal across south Haryana, south Uttar Pradesh, low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood, south Jharkhand, south Gangetic West Bengal and northwest Bay of Bengal extending upto 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.
