Jamshedpur, July 15: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre has issued a forecast of light to moderate rain over Jharkhand on Friday.
Weathermen also did not rule out the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning activity in isolated places.
The low-pressure area over coastal Odisha was hovering 7.6 Km above the mean sea level.
According to weathermen, the low pressure resulted in a good spell of rain especially in southern Jharkhand during the past 24 hours.
Today’s satellite pictures suggested the entry of heavy clouds in Jharkhand from neighbouring Bengal.
The rainfall was still not up to the mark in Jharkhand as all the 24 districts were facing a rain deficit.
Rain data suggested that against a normal of 336 mm, the state has so far received 167 mm, a deficit of 49 per cent which is a matter of concern, said weathermen.
