Jamshedpur, Sept 14:  Several parts of Jharkhand especially southern and central are expected to experience heavy rain during the next 24 hours due to the impact of a low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.

The low-pressure area over central parts of the North Bay of Bengal was lying over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

It is likely to become more marked during the next 24 hours and move across south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh during the next three days.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was passing through Bikaner, Tikamgarh, Daltonganj, Digha and thence southeastwards to the centre of Low-Pressure Area over Northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.

The trough now runs from cyclonic circulation over southeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining northeast Madhya Pradesh to the cyclonic circulation associated with the low-pressure area over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal across Chhattisgarh and Odisha extending upto 3.1 km above mean sea level.

Weathermen also did not rule out possibilities of thundershowers and lightning in isolated pockets of southern, central and western Jharkhand during the next two days.
