Jamshedpur, Oct 3: A low-pressure area hovering over southern Jharkhand and neighbouring Chhattisgarh is likely to trigger heavy rain in three districts of Kolhan region and Simdega today.
The three districts of Kolhan include East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan.
Weathermen said the associated cyclonic circulation was extending up to 7.6 km above the mean sea level tilting southwards.
The Met Department issued a forecast of thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places over the state for the next two days – Wednesday and Thursday.
Light to moderate rain was witnessed at most places; while heavy rain was also recorded at a few places during the past 24 hours.
Monsoon activity was vigorous over the state during the past two days.
Garhwa, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Palamu, Ramgarh and several other places including the capital Ranchi experienced good rainfall during the past two days.
