New Delhi, March 22: Domestic cooking gas (LPG) prices were raised by Rs 50 per cylinder on Tuesday, according to sources, in response to a rise in international energy prices. In the national capital, a 14.2-kg non-subsidised LPG cylinder would now cost Rs 949.50.
LPG rates have risen for the first time since early October. The price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder has increased to Rs 2003.50.
Meanwhile, despite the rising cost of raw materials, gasoline and diesel prices were raised on Tuesday.
Petrol will now cost Rs 96.21 per litre in Delhi, up from Rs 95.41 earlier, and diesel will cost Rs 87.47 per litre, up from Rs 86.67 previously.
Despite the fact that the cost of raw materials has been spiralling, prices have been frozen since then. A 5 Kilogram LPG cylinder would now cost Rs 349, according to sources, while a 10 kg composite bottle will cost Rs 669.
Notably, prices of LPG cylinders are determined by factoring in international benchmark rate of LPG and exchange rate of US Dollar and Indian Rupee.
Domestic LPG cylinder rates in different cities:
Mumbai – Rs 949.50
Kolkata – Rs 976 from Rs 926
Chennai – Rs 965.50 from 915.50
