Madhya Pradesh: 15 die, 35 injured as bus collides with truck in Rewa

New Delhi, Oct 22: A bus and trolley truck collided in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, resulting in at least 15 fatalities and 35 grave injuries. Around 11.30 p.m. on Friday, the collision happened on National Highway 30.

A few bystanders reportedly told authorities about the event, and officers from the Sohagi police station hurried to the scene.

They quickly started the rescue efforts and extricated the injured passengers from the wrecked bus. Three to four people, according to the police, were reportedly trapped inside the bus.

The injured passengers were transferred to the Teonthar civil hospital for treatment after ambulances were called in. According to the police, the passengers were travelling home to celebrate Diwali.

According to the district collector, the accident happened at 11 p.m. He claimed that on a mountain route, a trolley vehicle and a bus carrying passengers crashed. Jabalpur to Prayagraj through Rewa was the route used by the bus from Uttar Pradesh.

According to Rewa Superintendent of Police Navneet Bhasin, the accident resulted in up to 15 fatalities. The collector claimed that it was impossible to determine what caused the collision and that police were looking into it.
