Maharashtra: BJP MLA’s son, six others die in accident, PM announces ex-gratia

Wrdha, Jan 25: Seven medical students were killed in a road accident at 11.30 p.m. on Monday, including the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA. The Centre has announced that each victim’s family will receive Rs 2 lakh in compensation. The PMNRF will compensate the injured with Rs 50,000 apiece.

The students were driving through Selsura when a wild animal unexpectedly emerged in front of their automobile, according to police. According to preliminary investigations, the driver of the car swerved hard on the wheel to avoid the animal, causing the vehicle to crash into a ditch beneath a culvert. According to Wardha SP Prashant Holkar, the impact killed the students.

BJP MLA from Tirora constituency Vijay Rahangdale’s son Avishkar was among the deceased.

The other victims were identified as Neeraj Chauhan, Nitesh Singh, Vivek Nandan, Pratyush Singh, Shubham Jaiswal, Pawan Shakti.
