Maharashtra: Split in NCP, Ajit Pawar sworn in as Deputy CM in Shinde-BJP govt

Mumbai, July 2: Political earthquake has come in Maharashtra. Amidst the changing developments, NCP leader Ajit Pawar has joined the Shinde-BJP government. He took oath as Deputy Chief Minister at Raj Bhavan today.

Nine MLAs of the NCP took oath as ministers. These include Dharmarao Atram, Sunil Valsad, Aditi Tatkare, Hasan Mushrif, Chhagan Bhujbal, Dhananjay Munde, Anil Patil, Dilip Valse Patil and Ajit Pawar. Earlier, Ajit Pawar along with his supporting MLAs reached Raj Bhavan to meet the Governor.

Several BJP leaders including Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis were also present in the Raj Bhavan. Apart from Ajit Pawar, nine MLAs took oath as ministers.

In this regard, Sharad Pawar said that he does not support the oath ceremony. Ajit Pawar is said to have the support of 30 MLAs.

Notably, Praful Patel, Dilip Walse Patil, Chhagan Bhujbal, who are close to Sharad Pawar, have also reached the Raj Bhavan.
